Welcome to the Daniel S. Nersesian Photography Blog!

My friends & family tell me I’m an all or nothing kind of guy.  For better or worse, I’d agree, and that’s exactly how it was with photography.  I guess everyone was right!  Looking back, it seems that one minute I was a 22-year-old Marine in Iraq, fascinated by the embedded photojournalists who hung around on a daily basis, and the next minute I was a college student, enrolled at Brooks Institute of Photography and working towards a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Visual Journalism.  I haven’t looked back since!

I hope this blog gives you an idea of my photographic style.  I post everything from professional work for clients to my own family portraits, hoping that it gives you an idea of who I am both as a photographer & as an individual.  Enjoy the images, and feel free to fill out the contact form if you have any questions or comments!

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Wedding • Erin & Nathan

This wedding had waaaay too much going on to even begin to describe it!  It was perfect.  In fact, the whole wedding week went just about perfectly.  If these two had been any closer to the ocean during their ceremony or reception, they would have been in the water!  Erin & Nathan are absolutely perfect for each other, and I feel privileged & honored to have be included in such a spectacular event.  It’ll be a week everyone who attended will remember for a long time, I’m sure!  I’ll let the images speak for themselves on this one. . .

From the Mean Streets of Longfellow!

Cali is officially a city dog now.  Ever since we’ve moved, she seems to walk with a new swagger.  At least she takes pride in her new neighborhood!  Better watch out.  Cali Girl, from the mean streets of Minneapolis. . .

Everyone’s been asking me for images of my new place, so naturally I’m posting some images of Cali’s walk this morning, none of which have any sign of my house in them.  However, you can see my neighborhood, and that’s the best part anyways!

My place is a couple blocks West of the Mississippi River.

Spring has finally come, and I’m proud to say that I’ve officially survived my second winter back here in Minnesota!

Cali constantly generates a trail of destruction wherever she goes outdoors.  This rotten stick stands no chance!

Ventura, California Wedding • Siv & Skip

Wow, this was quite a week and I don’t know where to begin!  For local Twin Cities weddings, I usually arrive at a wedding a few hours before the ceremony and play my role in the event from that point on.  It’s a great job and I love doing it, but I also know and understand that there are wedding-related moments that I’m missing behind-the-scenes.  On the other hand, when I shoot a location wedding, I get the honor of experiencing the event as a whole, including all the behind-the-scenes stuff that most people miss.  Special moments with family are unveiled when I’m around all week, such as trying to fit one last bouquet of flowers into the fridge, or the groom talking bikes with his dad.

You have to understand that whenever Skip & I get together it’s always a good time, but to be included in his big week was a true privilege.  From the moment I arrived, I was ushered to all kinds of great events, such as viewing the sonogram at Siv’s ultrasound examination, Skip’s unconventional bachelor party at the local shooting range, an outdoor wedding in a rare Southern California downpour and a week of chillin’ with Skip & Siv’s family & friends.  It was an incredible week that I’ll remember for years to come.
