These images were made the same day as my cousin Christina’s confirmation, but I thought they deserved their own separate post. When it comes to family gatherings, more often than not my mom’s side of the family is involved. While growing up in Edina, they always lived close enough to be a big part of my life, and since I’ve moved back from CA, seeing them all on a regular basis has been quite a treat. My cousin Damond lives in Panama with his new wife and daughter, but was back visiting the Twin Cities for a few days, so we took the opportunity to make some portraits. The day was filled with the usual sights and sounds of a family get-together, as my uncle shot endless hours of video footage, my mom & aunt prepared tons of great food, and we all enjoyed spending time outside as the trees were popping out their first leaves of the year. My uncle even learned how to use my Canon 1D Mark II, so I could jump on the other side of the lens for a change!
