Welcome to the Daniel S. Nersesian Photography Blog!

My friends & family tell me I’m an all or nothing kind of guy.  For better or worse, I’d agree, and that’s exactly how it was with photography.  I guess everyone was right!  Looking back, it seems that one minute I was a 22-year-old Marine in Iraq, fascinated by the embedded photojournalists who hung around on a daily basis, and the next minute I was a college student, enrolled at Brooks Institute of Photography and working towards a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Visual Journalism.  I haven’t looked back since!

I hope this blog gives you an idea of my photographic style.  I post everything from professional work for clients to my own family portraits, hoping that it gives you an idea of who I am both as a photographer & as an individual.  Enjoy the images, and feel free to fill out the contact form if you have any questions or comments!

Back to California! (Temporarily)

It had been quite a while since I was back in California, so I packed up my bags and made a last minute trip to San Diego.  You don’t need much of an excuse to get out of Minnesota in the middle of February, you know?.  Lisa had been out to visit me last fall and we spent a few days up at the cabin in Crosslake, but I hadn’t had a chance to get out there to see her since I moved, so it seemed like the right time.  We spent most of our time together hanging out and relaxing with her dog Asher, who always gets lots of exercise when I’m around.

Unfortunately, Lisa worked all week, so I also made a side trip up to my old stomping grounds in Ventura for a couple days.  While up there, I went out for some drinks with my friends Nathan, Erin & Brandon, and spent an evening with my old roommate, Skip.  While waiting for Skip to get back from work, I spent the day with his two Yorkies, MacArthur & Madison Parker Rose.  These two little pups are great and they were my photo subjects for a few minutes when the light was nice.  Madison, a.k.a. Skinny, and I became best of friends during our time as roommates, so it was great to see all 8 pounds of her again.  She has a tongue that’s about 2″ too long, so you should be able to tell them apart!
