Today I decided to spend the morning at the 2009 Annual Individual Ice Carving Competition. It was held at Rice Park in St. Paul, and it was freezing! Don’t let the images of the fellow in a t-shirt fool you. All of the contestants were working quickly and you could tell that they were working up a sweat despite the low temperature. This is one of the first outdoor events that I’ve covered since moving back to MN after almost nine years Southern California, and I realized today that I’m not used to this kind of weather anymore. Walking to and from my car everyday is one thing, but to be out there working is something else all together! I guess it will take a while for my body to readjust to the cold. Enjoy!
