My friends & family tell me I’m an all or nothing kind of guy. For better or worse, I’d agree, and that’s exactly how it was with photography. I guess everyone was right! Looking back, it seems that one minute I was a 22-year-old Marine in Iraq, fascinated by the embedded photojournalists who hung around on a daily basis, and the next minute I was a college student, enrolled at Brooks Institute of Photography and working towards a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Visual Journalism. I haven’t looked back since!
I hope this blog gives you an idea of my photographic style. I post everything from professional work for clients to my own family portraits, hoping that it gives you an idea of who I am both as a photographer & as an individual. I’ve always appreciated a bride that’s willing to cruise around in her wedding dress for outdoor portraits. On top of dealing with the dress, Meghan also had to deal with quite a few MN mosquitoes, but we came up with some great portraits! I hope you enjoy the preview. . .
These family portraits were made earlier this month in Ventura, California. When I first got back from LAX, I posted some of the portraits we had made together, as I usually would. Then I started processing the images & realized what a great session we had together! The old post just didn’t do it justice, so I made a more thorough one this morning!
In the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph Siv & Skip’s engagement, their wedding, and now their first family portraits with their daughter Alexis. Having the opportunity to document the creation of a family has been incredible. Enjoy my small selection of images!
